If you follow any photographers you will learn that October is like finals week. The season starts to come to a close as the weather cools down. Everyone wants the beautiful fall colors even though in Illinois you never know what you will get. Between family shoots, engagements, weddings, and more you can barely keep your head above water in October. Yet, we still love this time of year for photography.

This past week we joined Maggie & Jacob in Shelbyville for their engagement shoot. We are very familiar with this area as we recently just moved out of Shelbyville. It was great to be back in the area capturing the beautiful love shared between these two. We learned that they had actually been cultivating this love their entire lives. Both from the area and having gone to school together they have managed to grow together over the years. We heard some great stories about their lives including their proposal story. Jake made sure he was going to be on top of wedding planning. He even made sure to book the reception hall and checked with Maggie prior to proposing. This may have given his plan away a little but we love that this makes a unique, memorable, and fun story for them to tell for years to come.
